Hidden away at the back of the crowd and very much lost in a torrent of daydreams is where you’ll find Roswin, a young rabbit, dressed for the day in a hand-me-down top that she is hoping to grow into soon. She isn’t known for her bravery, but she does her best, and is there for her friends when it counts.

This 13 page crochet pattern in US terms is filled with colour photos (19) and instructions to make sure your rabbit turns out just right. With a 2.75mm hook and DK weight yarn, she ends up roughly 14cm tall (depending on gauge) and is a perfect size for little hands, to stick in a pocket, or as a quiet desk companion.

Materials:

➔ Yarn – The pattern is made for DK weight yarn, but being Amigurumi, gauge isn’t super important (as long as it’s tight), and you can easily switch it out for a different weight. Just make sure all the yarn used is the same weight and it should still work. I’ve used Classic 8PLY Wool from Bendigo Woollen Mills for my rabbit. This rabbit is quite small (finished height is ~14cm including ears) so you won’t need much of any yarn.

◆ Colour A: Rabbit (e.g. brown)
◆ Colour B: Top (e.g. pink)
◆ Small bits of yarn for the eyes and nose (e.g. grey and pink)

➔ 2.75mm crochet hook to keep the stitches nice and tight. Depending on your yarn you may need to go up or down sizes to match.

➔ Stuffing

➔ Sewing pins to keep things in place as you stitch them together (not absolutely necessary, but can help keep things from sliding around)

➔ Stitch marker to keep track of rounds (I use an extra little piece of yarn)

➔ Yarn needle (or smaller if you prefer to attach pieces with thread)

➔ Scissors
