PDF for the Amongst the Trees of Forest Hill Crochet Pattern Only, not the Finished Product

Create your own little forest scene with the Amongst the Trees of Forest Hill crochet pattern. This pattern includes a round hill base, four different tree designs that can be mixed and matched, a tiny cabin, a bush, and a river that winds through the trees. The layout gives the impression of towering trees and a hidden cabin, creating a sense of scale and mystery.

This pattern is perfect for making a desk companion or adding a bit of nature to a child’s room. It’s designed to give you the freedom to create your own unique scene, with the trees and river placed wherever you like. The cabin can even be tucked away to be hidden in some views, adding a fun detail.

🧶 This pattern includes:

✨ Detailed step-by-step instructions in English using US crochet terms
✨ 25 colour photos to help you get your forest hill looking just right
✨ 10 pattern parts that can be mixed and matched to create a unique scene

Materials

➔ Yarn – The pattern is made for DK weight yarn, but being amigurumi, gauge isn’t super important and you can easily switch it out for a different weight. Just make sure all the yarn used is the same weight and it should still work. I’ve used Classic 8PLY Wool from Bendigo Woollen Mills in the example images, and Cascade 220 Superwash 100% Wool in the finished photos (Deep Teal, Laurel Green, Hunter Green, Mint Green, Peppermint, Frosted Almond, Provence, Vinci). The colours can be mixed and matched to create your own unique forest.

  • Colour A: Pale Green hill top
  • Colour B: White or Brown hill base and a little white strand for the cabin door
  • Colour C: Dark Green
  • Colour D: Medium Green
  • Colour E: Light Green
  • Colour F: Orange/Red for maple trees
  • Colour G: Brown for the cabin and tree trunks
  • Colour H: Teal/Blue for the creek

➔ 2.75mm crochet hook to keep the stitches nice and tight. Depending on your yarn you may need to go up or down sizes to match.
➔ Stuffing
➔ Sewing pins to keep things in place as you stitch them together (not necessary, but can help keep things from sliding around)
➔ Marker to keep track of rounds (I use an extra little piece of yarn)
➔ Yarn needle (or smaller if you prefer to attach pieces with thread), scissors, general etc.
