🌟 Introducing the Little Folk Farmer! 🌾👨‍🌾

Say hello to the Little Folk Farmer, the first in this enchanting small world play collection! This charming farmer is more than happy to be your friend, lending a helping hand with your plants, whether they’re indoors or outdoors (no preferences here!). Alternatively, the Little Folk Farmer is ready to bring joy to someone else’s day as a thoughtful gift.

In true Waldorf style, the Farmer features no facial features, allowing the imagination to soar and opening the door to endless possibilities of creative play. Standing at around 14cm tall, this little companion is the perfect size for tucking into pockets and being held by little hands.

The Little Folk Farmer intentionally comes without a name, inviting you to give it a new identity with no strings attached! I would love to see what name your little one chooses for their Farmer, so don’t forget to mention me on Instagram @littlesealdesigns.

Crafted with cozy 4/DK yarn, however, feel free to switch to a different hook size to ensure tight stitches with no gaps, resulting in a smaller or larger friend depending on your preference.

This pattern provides step-by-step instructions to help you create your very own Little Folk Farmer. With fifteen vibrant color photos included, you’ll find it easy to follow along and bring your Farmer to life. Designed with advanced beginners in mind, this pattern is also a great opportunity for those eager to learn and jump into the world of crochet.

Materials

➔ Yarn (All in Light/DK/3 or Medium/Worsted/4 Weight (hook size can go up to 3mm if using the latter). This can be changed, but all yarns used should be the same weight to keep the dimensions. Yardage will change depending on yarn, hook, and tension, so the yardage below is a rough estimate only and measured with light weight yarn.):

Colour A: Skin colour for the head and hands ~12 yards

Colour B: Overalls colour ~12 yards

Colour C:  T-shirt colour ~4 yards

Colour D: Shoe colour ~1.5 yards

Colour E: Hat colour ~19 yards

➔ 2.75mm crochet hook to keep the stitches nice and tight. Depending on your yarn you may need to go up or down sizes to match.

➔ Stuffing

➔ Sewing pins to keep things in place as you stitch (not necessary, but can help keep things from sliding around)

➔ Marker to keep track of rounds (I use an extra little piece of yarn)

➔ Yarn needle (or smaller if you prefer to attach pieces with thread), scissors, general etc.
